We had a blast working on HellSign in 2018, but we’re just getting started! Aside from the critical fixes released last week (e.g. savegame safewrite, cabinet blocking room, etc), we have been listening to and watching the community play HellSign, and isolated what needs to be tackled next. We have some amazing stuff planned for you guys, and the first step is to lay some strong foundations! Quest log & Operation Manual We will be adding the much requested quest log & operational manual. This will allow you to keep track of your current contracts, as well as gain a deeper understanding into the inner mechanics of HellSign. Combat & Optimization You asked for it, and you’re gonna get it! Although we do enjoy seeing people die, we imagine getting lag raped by a kelpie can be frustrating at times! So it’s imperative to improve combat & optimization as a stepping stone, before we can begin adding new enemies in ;) Localization Workshop Support There have been numerous offers to help translate the game, and based on suggestions on the forum, we’re planning to add workshop support for fan translations. New Stuff Once those are in we can really start rolling with the good stuff, but we don’t wanna spoil the surprise just yet :P We’re pumped & super excited for the year ahead, with every patch we will make hellsign bigger, better, and thicker! HellSign v1.0.0.5 Update: Greetings hunters. You’ve waited for it, and it’s here! BLACKLIGHT fixes across the board! But first we want to thank you, the community, for your amazing support on making HellSign better, longer & thicker! We’ve been absolutely floored with nonstop reports, videos and screenshots, which helped pinpoint these stubborn issues! While there will be further blacklight improvements to come, we hope this solves the major issues you’ve had. And to thank you for your positive support, we’ve also polished the ghoul animations, and added audiovisual feedback for critters crawling under doors to top it off ;) So without further ado, patch notes & teaser video below. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9whI7RoDxBA Blacklight Improvements The major improvements include the following: • Fixed blacklight wall hugging issues. • Fixed blacklight end trail sometimes not leading to the intended sign. • Fixed blacklight sometimes ending in a room where another blacklight starts. • Fixed blacklight trail overlap issues in first tutorial. • Enhanced blacklight trail visuals for more clarity. Improvements • Crawlers/spiderlings now trigger rattle & slither sound when going under doors. • Polished ghoul run animation + run/land sounds. • Added 2h guns & marksman skill icons. • Rebuffed nock volley gun. • Rebalanced helmets to give absolute armor instead of percentage based. • Helmets now give bit of stability, to be able to reach intended hardpoints. Fixes • Fixed rare issue where thermal would bug out due to lamps encounter. • Fixed very rare issue where a collapsed small cabinet was buried into floor. • Fixed issue with hallway glass shards sometimes clipping with the cabinet. HellSign v1.0.1.2 Update: For all the people who offered to help translate the game, it’s finally here! HellSign now has fan translation support, with workshop compatibility. For the non-english speakers, please note there’s no actual translations yet. Check on the workshop to see when one is available for your language. https://steamcommunity.com/workshop/browse/?appid=606500 Translation Support Tools Translations can be installed both from the workshop or from other sources for working offline. • All dialogue, UI, item descriptions, and so forth are translatable. • Translate by editing one simple text file. • Built-in refresh button, to show your translation changes in real time! • Update from older versions with one simple click, marking all new & changed entries. • Upload to workshop, or simply distribute the file where ever you please. Holiday recharge to come back stronger next year!: With the year coming to an end and everyone getting ready to pack it in for the holiday season, we wanted to give a massive shoutout to the community for their outstanding support and positive feedback to HellSign since the launch 4 weeks ago! As mentioned previously on the forums, after 3 years of non-stop work, even hunters need to take a break! We will be away between the 7th of Dec running through to the 7th of Jan. During this time there will be a slight pause on title updates and patches, however we will try our best to keep in touch with the community until we are back. All we ask in return is that you give us a bit of slack and a chance to recharge, so we can come back at full strength and make HellSign the best game it can be! We are truly grateful, and to show our gratitude, we have another incoming hot patch :) We’re happy to introduce the first planned blacklight improvement based on community feedback. Corpses blood pool now glow in blacklight to reinforce the start of a blacklight trail. (p.s. It might look lewd, but you know that you like it :P) Fixes • Fixed invulnerability to death from certain attacks while wearing regenerative equipment. • Fixed nail gun not breaching jammed doors. • Fixed rapidly clicking jammed doors physically moved them. • Fixed some key rebinding bugs. • Fixed lighting in edges of the screen for ultra widescreen. • Fixed issue with some corpses not showing blood pool around them. Improvements • Optimized shadow dimension, especially in lower video settings. • Added EMF perimeter explanation to tutorial. • Hitting escape for main menu now pauses game mid-mission. • Added support for remapping all keys. • Explained HellSign’s world better through couple extra dialogue entries (Redback & Lefty). Visuals & misc • Initial blacklight corpse blood now glows in blacklight, to reinforce the start of trail. • Furniture now seamlessly shows when entering house instead of suddenly toggling. HellSign v1.0.1.3 Update: Greetings hunters, this update is mainly focused on combat in an attempt to make your hunts faster, smoother and more enjoyable. It also has a bunch of random goodies which you can see below. Also thanks for the reports in the performance thread, we were able to find and resolve a fill rate issue with shadowbeast, which optimized them by ~40%! Improvements • Optimized shadowbeasts (40% improvement). • Improved shadowbeasts animations & sounds, for better telegraphing. • Improved ghoul attack animation, for better telegraphing. • Reworked dodging sweet spots for various regular enemies (with a small delay) • Improved loading screen look, including actual progress bar. • After finishing quest, added missing "+1 reputation" to rewards screen. Fixes • Fixed a door not highlighting for a kick in one of the layouts. • Fixed issue with ghoul/spiderlings attacking instantly after appearing. • Fixed player animations minor looping issues. • Fixed combat tutorial (tin alley) to display risk 1. • Fixed shotgun attachment not playing pump sounds when attached to SMG. • Fixed menu buttons disappearing. • Fixed reloading while firing underbarrel attachment. • Fixed spiderling jump sounds, was confusing due to wrong timing • Fixed spelling mistake ultra-voilet to ultra-violet. • Fixed spelling mistake in nephilim entry, vangeful to vengeful. • Fixed spelling mistake in zoe dialogue, entrties, to entries Localization • Fixed languages not showing properly in the download section. • Added system to support special characters (like á é ő ű). • Added “counterfeit skill activated” popup to file. • Added "equipment" title from character creation to file. • Added ‘bouncer stealing money’ popup to file. • Fixed translation language spelling of 日本語 & Polski. • Fixed modding mode refresh button not showing in tutorial 1. • Fixed bottom left action bar in game to translate properly. • Fixed dialogue to replace [playerName] correctly. We want to give a massive shoutout to all the translators that have jumped on board, and created translations in a matter of days, you are all awesome!
